As we all emerge from the Coronavirus pandemic, the BBC’s local radio stations across England are coming together to help children and families.
‘Kit Out the Nation’
is a month-long campaign (Saturday 4th September – 2nd October)
as part of the BBC Make a Difference brand aimed at taking in and distributing unwanted, good condition sports kit and getting them to children and teenagers who need it.
It has long known the issue around access to sport and exercise because of the affordability of kit. The situation has been compounded by the pandemic and this is our chance to help to improve that situation.
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee published a report on 29th July 2021 where they said data from Sport England showing 100,000 fewer children met the recommended level of activity in 2020 than in 2019 was “of significant concern”
Community Together CIC is proud to be a drop off point for donations of kit at their centre in Tamworth Castle Grounds, Opposite the Tennis Courts, River Drive, Tamworth B79 7ND open Monday to Friday 10am to 3pm.
We will also run a special donation days, all day 10am-5pm on Saturday 2nd September, Saturday 11th September 2021 and Saturday 2nd October.
